The Art and Nature Collective (Community Interest Company SC802894) was founded to support Artists exploring the natural, non-human, world in their practice. We are dedicated to fostering creativity and education, our mission is simple, to provide artists at all stages of their careers with invaluable professional opportunities while nurturing a deep appreciation for nature. Through workshops, collaborations, research opportunities, and exhibitions, we seek to empower artists to explore, express, and elevate their craft in harmony with the natural world.
Central to our ethos is the belief that art has the power to inspire change and amplify voices. By forging partnerships with scientific and environmental organisations we increase our collective impact and reach. These collaborations enable us to create meaningful experiences that engage communities, raise awareness of environmental issues, and celebrate the beauty of the natural world through the lens of art.
As we continue to grow and evolve, our commitment to supporting artists and protecting the planet remains central to our ethos. Together, we strive to cultivate a global community of creatives, as a Collective, we come together to share our passion for art, nature, and positive change.
Art and Nature Collective
The collective has a specific interest in using art to educate people about the environment. Through collaborations with scientific organisations we hope to reach a wide demographic to create climate responsive art.
Education, leading to care, leading to desire to protect. This is done through the organisation of workshops, and collaborative events we call…
Art, Science, and Society.

A message from our founder
Hi my name is Inês-Hermione Mulford, I’m an artist based in Scotland and I founded the Art and Nature Collective in 2023.
Still in it’s infancy the Collective is growing quickly and I’m thrilled we’re able to continue to grow and provide our artists with exposure and opportunities.
Having left art school, I’ll not admit to how long ago that is now, I felt lost and without the guidance or peer support the system had provided. I was taught to work alone, but after years of working collaboratively with organisations throughout my artistic career I knew this to not be the case to create long-lasting positive change.
So came the Collective, a community where we all share a common thread within our practice; nature, the love of it, the use of it’s materials, or the science behind it. Creating a safe space where artists could ask questions, share resources and networks, and be open to mentoring opportunities whether as a mentor or a mentee.
With our esteemed partnered organisations we provide opportunities for research, workshops, collaborations and commission. Together we reach a much wider audience. Through this collaboration of art and sceince we reveal the whole picture to the communities we engage with. Promoting a love and a sense of stewardship for this amazing planet we call home.
