Anna Howarth

Artist Statement

The ancient art of making flowers from paper was practised in China as early as 100BC. My work combines age-old techniques with a modern aesthetic in the form of realistic, intricately crafted paper flower art.

Every petal and leaf is cut, coloured, shaped and assembled by hand, meaning each piece is unique. I use only the highest quality materials including specialist crepe paper and professional artist-grade watercolour, pastel and acrylic ink.

Flowers carry special meanings and evoke treasured memories. Through my work I aim to capture the emotion of flowers in a way that lasts for years.
