Wenna King

Artist Statement

I am primarily a painter, with a practice that also explores sculpture and UV-reactive materials. I move between mediums intuitively, guided by curiosity and a sense of play.

My work is colourful, atmospheric, and psychedelic, drawing inspiration from nature—animals, plants, fungi, and landscapes as well as from patterns, colour, and a feeling of connection to something greater than myself.

Recently, I’ve focused on portraiture and paintings that shift under UV light, revealing hidden layers and inviting changing ways of seeing.
