Jenny Blair

Artist Statement

The interaction between Nature and creativity has always been a fascinating one to me as the happiness and well being I experience in life and how connected I feel to my Self can be directly linked with how much time I spend immersed in both.

This has lead me to exploring both as a creative AND well being practise, which I do through a variety of mediums – from stitch to sketch, paint to print, drawing to Natural dye. The desire behind it all being to document the magic of the Natural world that surrounds me, dive into its untold messages, cultivate the deep joy it brings and  find ways to encourage this connection to Nature, Creativity and our deepest selves, within others.

Artist Bio

Jenny is a self taught multi media artist with a passion for playing with contrast through textures and medium, drawing upon the bounties of Nature from the rural environment that surrounds her, as the inspiration that runs throughout.

Based in the rural town of Kirriemuir, where she grew up and later returned with her own family, Jenny has spent many years working as an artist and designer sharing her nature inspired offerings around the world and hosting many workshops focusing on sustainable and nature based creativity to encourage play over perfectionism, and as a means to connect deeper with themselves and  surrounding world.

In 2024 she was funded through Creative Scotland  to discover the Natural Dye colours available from the Angus Summer flora , bringing in a beautiful new layer of discovery and connection between Nature and creativity.
